Step 2. On the front of the handset, you will see nine Torx T6 screws (highlighted in red). Remove these and keep them in a safe place.

Step 3. With all the screws removed, you can now separate the protective metal shield from the phone, and then lift away the main circuit board and screen. When removing the main circuit board, take care to keep hold of the screen assembly which is only attached at this stage by the thin ribbon cable - DO NOT apply too much stress to this cable.

Step 4. To separate the screen from the main circuit board, carefully lift the connector block away from the circuit board taking care to apply even pressure to all sides.

Step 5. Now we'll take a look at the chassis of the N-Gage. Most of the parts below simply lift out, but care must be taken with the speaker assembly and the buzzer which are clipped in place very tightly and are easily damage if too much pressure is applied. In blue you can see the vibra motor (which is interchangeable with most other Nokia's), the microphone is simply clipped in place, charging port again is clipped in place, headphone sockets are very loosely clipped in place and care should be taken to make sure that they are replaced in the right position, the power button is a little awkward to slide out but is basically mounted on a pivot and can be removed using a small screwdriver and finally the aerial.

Step 6. To re-assemble the phone, simply reverse the above steps. After re-assembly take as much time as you need to thoroughly test the handset to ensure that you have caused no damage, or forgotten one of the re-assembly steps.
